Our Anniversary

We've always celebrated our anninversary with a traditional gift. Its "FUN"....every year we look up what it is that we basically have to search or hunt down. Copper? Cotton? {I wrapped his whole present that year in cotton candy mmmm}! We also alternate years, so that one of us is not always doing the planning. Last year was his {Pottery or weeping Willow} so he planned a date to a pottery place where he and I made a piece of pottery and yes...we painted a weeping willow on it.

This year was Aluminum or Tin.....and of course my year to plan!! Ha-Ha...Poor guy! He agreed, but all-in-all ended up being way more than he ever anticipated. Technically paint comes in a Tin Can, and he purchase some sand paper that read Aluminum on it...so there we go!

Sanding the kitchen cabinets is what took up most of the time, almost two day's just on the kitchen.

We have a stainless steel fridge that I've been wanting in the house for over a year now. Never had time to rip out the cabinets to fit it in....until now.

While we were at it...I said could you PLEASE....cut a hole in this wall it would be wonderful to have some light come into the kitchen in the morning. He wasn't to keen on the work that would have to go into it. Considering it's a LOAD bearing wall and he would have to re-wire the electricity {running into yet another weekend when I only asked for three days}...but he smiled and said ok.....I agree that will look nice and bring in some light.

So we headed back to Lowe's to get some primer for the benches. Running out of time and our hands were killing after day 3. I turned out well......very sticky!

Initially didn't want to sand in the house so Shadd went back to Lowe's and got this Stripper. It burns really bad,one of the kids rubbed there toe on it and needed to strip down to take a bath. Sierra and Shadd too...said it burned. Then when we went to sand it,it gummed up and wasted alot of sand paper. It didn't bubble and wasn't easy to scrape like the directions said, so we won't use this again.

"OLD FASHIONED" hard work is what it took....sanding!!
